Hey there, Jed here! There are a collection of email templates that my teams and I have personally employed and found to be quite effective, consistently yielding reply rates surpassing the 5% mark. A quick disclaimer: These examples are drawn from our practical experiences and have delivered results for us. However, they're not set in stone. Your task is to rework them to suit your audience and infuse them with your unique style. So, without further ado, feel free to explore, adapt, and make these templates your own. Enjoy the journey!
When to use it: When your messaging isn’t working or you’re building your outbound messaging for the first time. It’s a great way to get your prospects to open up and share valuable information that will help you understand your market better. You’ll also find that it tends to open up conversations that lead to meetings anyway.

Hey <magical-placeholder>First Name<magical-placeholder>.
Let me preface this by saying I’m not trying to sell you anything or book a meeting. I was hoping to get some feedback from you as someone I would normally sell to.
I’m building the sales team at <magical-placeholder>My Company<magical-placeholder>. We compete with tools like <magical-placeholder>Competitors<magical-placeholder>- I’m sure your team uses one of those.
I’m genuinely curious what, if anything, would it take to for you to consider an alternative? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
When to use it: The last email in your sequence. Break-up emails are a debated topic but this one is worth testing because, at the very least, you’re getting valuable information on how to improve your messaging from the only source that matters… your prospects!!! And while, yes, this email is an ask without giving anything in return, the response rates tend to be high because people want to give you their expert opinion.

Hey [first name] - seems like my emails missed the mark for you.
No worries! Can you let me know where I wasn’t relevant and/or how I might be able to improve in the future?
Thanks a ton

When to use it: As a bump email (response to a previous email) midway through your sequence. The goal is to build trust and credibility by providing a helpful resource, related to the problem you solve, from a source other than your own company (i.e. a 3rd party).

[First name] - did you see [resource]?
[relevant social proof company] used it and saw [X improvement].
Happy to send it over if you’d like.

When to use it: When a prospect no-shows you or is ghosting you mid-sales cycle. Have your manager send this one. The gift card sentence is optional. A/B test to see how it lands with your prospects.

Hey [first name]!
Saw you talked to [other reps name] the other week about [problem you solve]. Curious if you had any feedback for us? Helps a lot as our team is still new and growing.
Happy to send a gift card for the help.
Thanks!
When to use it: When you get an “Out of Office” email reply. See if the prospect left the name of who to reach out to while they’re away in their email. Then send this template to that person.

Hey [first name], wondering if you could help me out while [prospects name] is OOO.
Based on [pain point] I thought they might find [solution] relevant.
Do you think they’d be open to a conversation or would it make more sense to chat with you first?
When to use it: We all get “Not interested” replies. Most people just ignore them or worse, try to handle the objection over email… when was the last time that worked??? Instead, look at the prospect's LinkedIn and find the last company they worked at. Then send this simple template with the goal of getting a referral to that company.

Hey [name], no problem.
I know it’s not your job to help sales people, but do you mind me asking if you think [their previous company] might be a fit considering your experience there?
When to use it: When you’re sending an initial email to a prospect but can’t find anything relevant to personalize on. Find their direct reports on LinkedIn. Then frame your email around them to catch the prospect's attention.

Does this resonate?
